The Western Christian Fighting Lancers will face off against the Hesperia Christian Patriots at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Western Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 15-2 margin over The Webb Schools on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Fighting Lancers in their matchups with the Gauls: they've now won eight in a row.

Jackson Thompson tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on James Mack, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Jacob Casas was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
Western Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .619. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Hesperia Christian waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Jaguars 30-10. Considering the Patriots have won seven games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Luke Beasley made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Hesperia Christian is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 8-10 otherwise. Beasley was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs, eight RBI, and four runs while going 3-for-3.
In other batting news, Sam Montoro was incredible, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Ezra Hawthorne, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Hesperia Christian's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-10. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for Western Christian, their win bumped their record up to 9-11.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Western Christian hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Hesperia Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Western Christian suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Hesperia Christian when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Fighting Lancers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
