The Elkhorn Antlers entered their tilt with the Wahoo Warriors with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Elkhorn secured a 36-30 W over Wahoo on Thursday. For Elkhorn, this counts as revenge for the 56-45 defeat Wahoo walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.
Teagan Watts and Erin Golladay certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Watts scored ten points along with three steals, while Golladay scored eight points. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for her. Ava Lausterer was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Elkhorn's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-2. As for Wahoo, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Elkhorn will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Plattsmouth at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. As for Wahoo, they will head out on the road to face off against Nebraska City at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Nebraska City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Thursday.
