The Southern Wells Raiders fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They slipped by South Adams 37-36 on Friday. This was payback for Southern Wells, who suffered a 45-41 loss the last time these two teams met.
Southern Wells' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cj Reber led the charge by scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Perrin Gates, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Southern Wells' win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10. As for South Adams, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-12.
Southern Wells will take on Lakeland Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lakeland Christian Academy is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak. As for South Adams, they will head out on the road to challenge Whitko at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Whitko has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 200 points over their last three contests.
