On Friday, The Spring Grove Lions faced the Kingsland Knights in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Spring Grove was beaten by Kingsland 44-14. Spring Grove's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Leading Kingsland to victory were Beau Wiersma and Kaaleem Reiland. Wiersma gained 133 total yards and three touchdowns, while Reiland rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Wiersma is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played.
Spring Grove's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Kingsland, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Spring Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Kingsland will square off against Hills-Beaver Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hills-Beaver Creek is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
