Laguna Creek is a perfect 4-0 against Sheldon since December of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Laguna Creek Cardinals will square off against the Sheldon Huskies at 6:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
It was a proper cat-fight when Laguna Creek duked it out with Franklin on Wednesday. Laguna Creek really took it to Franklin for the full four quarters, racking up a 72-33 victory. The Cardinals pushed the score to 49-29 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wildcats had little chance of recovering from.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Sheldon on Wednesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Elk Grove out of the water with a 59-26 final score. The Huskies haven't had any issues with the Thundering Herd recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Sheldon's win came from a few key players Laguna Creek will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Brooklin Kimmons, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoe McAfee, who put up 11 points.
Laguna Creek has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points over those games. As for Sheldon, their record now sits at 16-10.
Laguna Creek didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Sheldon when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 79-75 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Sheldon's Saniah Wiley, who dropped a double-double with 26 points and ten rebounds. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Laguna Creek still be able to contain Wiley? There's only one way to find out.
