Lakeland has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Mid Valley Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lakeland comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Two weeks ago, Lakeland took a serious blow against Dunmore, falling 68-18. While losing is never fun, Lakeland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 597th, while Dunmore is ranked 110th).
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Mid Valley's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 48-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Riverside.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Elise Larson, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Chiara Zavislak, who scored eight points.
Lakeland's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Mid Valley, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-8.
Lakeland took a serious blow against Mid Valley when the teams last played back in January, falling 56-25. Can Lakeland avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
