Softball Recap: Rampart's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Rampart had to endure a ten-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against the Doherty Spartans on Thursday as they made off with a 16-1 win. That 15 run margin sets a new team best for the Rams this season.

Addison Jensen was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ella Lee, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Emilie Sklenar also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Rampart kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Doherty only managed three.

Rampart's victory bumped their record up to 4-18. As for Doherty, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-19.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rampart will take on Widefield at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Doherty, they will face off against Fountain-Fort Carson at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
