De La Salle is 7-1 against College Park since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Spartans will welcome the Falcons at 1:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with De La Salle sitting on three straight wins and College Park on six.
De La Salle is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They blew past Foothill 10-1. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won 17 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Graham Schlicht spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, De La Salle got a massive performance out of Antonio Castro, who fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-4. Those two home runs gave Castro a new career-high. Tyler Spangler was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and three runs.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: De La Salle lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, College Park got themselves on the board against Casa Grande on Tuesday, but Casa Grande never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Gauchos. College Park's victory was all the more impressive since the Gauchos were averaging only 2.36 runs allowed on the season.
The result came thanks to James Voorhies's shutout, as he gave up just five hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because College Park is 10-2 when he allows at most two walks, but 7-8 otherwise.
At the plate, College Park let TJ Reinhart and Desmond Cobb run wild. Reinhart went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run, while Cobb got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Vincent 'Tino' Vasell, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
De La Salle's win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for College Park, their win bumped their record up to 17-10.
De La Salle's speedy runners might be the difference in Saturday's matchup. The Spartans have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for College Park, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will De La Salle continue to outrun the ball?
De La Salle was able to grind out a solid victory over College Park in their previous matchup back in April, winning 5-1. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
