The Maranatha Christian Eagles lost against the Bishop's Knights back in May of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Maranatha Christian fell to Bishop's 56-51. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Maranatha Christian in their matchups with Bishop's: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Maranatha Christian saw an underclassman step up: Zeke Walker scored 25 points along with six rebounds. The matchup was Walker's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Adrian (A.D.) Ownbey, who scored 12 points.
Maranatha Christian now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Bishop's, they pushed their record up to 6-7 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Maranatha Christian will be playing at home against Santa Fe Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. Bishop's road trip will continue as they head out to face Escondido Charter at 6:00 p.m. on January 6th. One thing working in Escondido Charter's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests.
