This season hasn't been kind to the Jackpot Jaguars, who are still winless after their fifth match. They had to suffer through a rough 61-11 loss at the hands of McDermitt. While losing is never fun, Jackpot can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while McDermitt is ranked 23rd).
McDermitt found their leader in underclassman Alexis Scott, who scored 16 points along with three steals and three blocks. Those three blocks set a new season-high mark for her. Sadie Hinkey was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds.
Jackpot bumped their record down to 0-5 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for McDermitt, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
Jackpot is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Twin Falls Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 9th. Twin Falls Christian Academy's defense has only allowed 20.4 points per game this season, so Jackpot's offense will have their work cut out for Jackpot. McDermitt won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Wells at 1:00 p.m. on January 6th. Wells' defense has only allowed 26.7 points per game this season, so McDermitt's offense will have their work cut out for McDermitt.
