The Willows Honkers will head out on the road to challenge the East Nicolaus Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. East Nicolaus took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Willows, who comes in off a win.
Willows scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They put the hurt on Paradise with a sharp 57-33 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Willows has posted since December 21, 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Willows to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kyleigh Goppert, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds and five assists. Goppert has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Karla Sandoval DiMaggio, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, East Nicolaus' good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Winters by a score of 50-47. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat East Nicolaus has suffered since December 14, 2023.
The victory makes it two in a row for Willows and bumps their season record up to 9-12. As for East Nicolaus, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.
Willows came up short against East Nicolaus in their previous meeting two weeks ago, falling 44-35. Can Willows avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
