Pataula Charter Academy extended their winning streak to five on Tuesday, bumping them up to 9-7. Everything went their way against the Seminole County Indians as they made off with a 14-8 win. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.
Sophie Conner made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Kayleigh Berry was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with five stolen bases and five runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in August of 2024. Gracen Hunnicutt was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Pataula Charter Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
As for Seminole County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. Indians fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against Pataula Charter Academy since Tuesday.
On Seminole County's side, A Williams was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of J Henry, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Looking ahead, Pataula Charter Academy will challenge Miller County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Seminole County, they will square off against Bainbridge at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bearcats have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
