Basketball Recap: Katie Busch Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Chula Vista

Tri-City Christian's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They walked away with a 39-26 win over the Chula Vista Spartans. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 36-30 victory the Spartans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2023.

Tri-City Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Katie Busch out in front who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds. Busch has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more boards the last 11 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ava Johnson, who posted five points and four steals.

Tri-City Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2023.

The victory got Tri-City Christian back to even at 1-1. As for Chula Vista, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Tri-City Christian will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Vista at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Chula Vista, they will be taking part in a tournament against El Cajon Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
