Baseball Recap: Lancaster Has No Trouble Against Knight

Lancaster had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Knight on Wednesday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Hawks. Considering the Eagles have won ten matchups by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Freddy Orozco spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lancaster got a big performance out of Cole Lewis, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Jaxton Whitaker was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Lancaster was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in four consecutive games.

Lancaster now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Knight, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.

Lancaster will have a chance to go back-to-back against Knight: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
