Baseball Recap: Foothill Has No Trouble Against Freedom

Foothill barely beat Freedom the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Foothill put the hurt on Freedom with a sharp 11-1 win on Wednesday. Foothill hasn't had any issues with Freedom recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Charlie Stearns looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Foothill let Ryan Wescott and Tanner Tarpley run wild. Wescott scored two runs while going 2-for-2, while Tarpley scored two runs while going 3-for-4. What's more, Wescott posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Landon Comerford, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Foothill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Freedom only posted an OBP of .333.

Foothill's record now sits at 2-0. As for Freedom, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. We've got a battle between Falcons coming up. As for Freedom, they are headed away from home for the first time to face off against Campolindo at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
