After losing to the Union City Bears the last time they met, the Saegertown Panthers decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Saegertown skirted past the Bears 42-40.
Despite the defeat, Union City saw an underclassman step up: Brooke Vantassel scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ava Greer, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Saegertown has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season. As for Union City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Saegertown will challenge the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Maplewood will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. As for Union City, they will head out on the road to take on the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Youngsville has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 28.
