Baseball Game Preview: Alhambra Moors vs. Mark Keppel Aztecs

Alhambra is a perfect 10-0 against Mark Keppel since March of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Alhambra Moors will welcome the Mark Keppel Aztecs at 3:30 p.m. Alhambra is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.

Alhambra fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Schurr on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 7-6. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Nero Navarro was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 5-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those five hits gave him a new career-high. Jacob Rodriguez was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.

Even though they lost, Alhambra was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .316 or higher in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Mark Keppel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 17-11 to Schurr. Even if the Aztecs couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Mark Keppel's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Alhambra, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2-1.

Everything went Alhambra's way against Mark Keppel in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Alhambra made off with a 9-2 victory. Does Alhambra have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mark Keppel turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
