The South Pointe Griffins can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They walked away with a 62-51 win over West Phoenix. That's another feather in the cap for South Pointe, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
South Pointe was led to victory by Quion Williams and Zyion Brown. Williams scored 20 points along with three steals, while Brown scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. It was the first time this season that Brown grabbed two or more steals. Prince Sohn was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven assists and two steals.
The victory got South Pointe back to even at 9-9. As for West Phoenix, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-11.
South Pointe won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Fire at 7:00 p.m. on January 31st. Premier Prep- PHHoenix Open is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games. As for West Phoenix, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the at 4:00 p.m. on February 5th. Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
