Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Georgetown Day to victory, but perhaps none more so than Madisyn Moore, who scored 22 points along with 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Moore has scored at least 25% of Georgetown Day's points. Evelyn Chen was another key contributor, going 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points and 0 assists.
Despite the loss, Coolidge saw an underclassman step up: Josslyn Derricott dropped a double-double on 19 points and 10 rebounds. Derricott scored a full 35.8% of Coolidge's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jaylyn Derricott, who scored 7 points along with 9 rebounds.
The victory got Georgetown Day back to even at 1-1. As for Coolidge, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.
Georgetown Day will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against St. Stephen's & St. Agnes at 5:45 p.m. Coolidge's road trip will continue as they head out to face Forest Park.
