Basketball Recap: River View Skates Past Greater Beckley Christian with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask River View). They blew past the Greater Beckley Christian Crusaders, posting a 79-41 victory. The Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 30 points or more this season.

River View found their leader in sophomore Chasity Kennedy, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. The game was Kennedy's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaci Hatfield, who went 8 of 13 on her way to 19 points and four steals.

River View smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

Despite the defeat, Greater Beckley Christian had strong showings from Destyni Farrish, who posted 14 points, and Braelyn Farrish, who put up 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aislinn Pelfrey, who had six points and 16 rebounds.

River View's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Greater Beckley Christian, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

River View wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 64-43 victory against Valley on the 20th. As for Greater Beckley Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-46 loss against Liberty on the 23rd.
