The Twiggs Academy Trojans won against the Windsor Academy Knights last Thursday with 47 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Monday. Twiggs Academy walked away with a 47-38 victory over Windsor Academy. The victory was familiar territory for Twiggs Academy who now have three in a row.
Twiggs Academy was led to victory by Megan Favors and Raigan Gilbert. Favors scored ten points along with seven assists and four steals, while Gilbert dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gilbert has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Madison Lavender, who scored four points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Despite the loss, Windsor Academy saw an underclassman step up: Kyndall Bowen scored 22 points along with six rebounds and five steals. That was a full 57.9% of Windsor Academy's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Roberts, who scored five points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, Windsor Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Twiggs Academy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Windsor Academy, their loss was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-12.
