Having just played yesterday, the Don Lugo Conquistadores will get right back to it and host the Rancho Verde Mustangs at 10:00 a.m. on December 27th. Hopefully Don Lugo focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Tuesday.
Don Lugo managed to keep up with St. Paul until halftime, but things quickly went downhill from there. Don Lugo was outmatched by St. Paul at home and fell 57-30. Don Lugo has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Don Lugo had strong showings from Sarah Magadan, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds, and Belen Perez, who scored two points.
Meanwhile, Rancho Verde waltzed into their match two weeks ago with three straight wins but they left with four. They secured a 57-53 W over Hemet.
Don Lugo's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Rancho Verde, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
Don Lugo came up short against Rancho Verde in their previous matchup back in December of 2019, falling 42-30. Thankfully for Don Lugo, DeMariyah McGee (who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 22 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
