West Point has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Aberdeen Bulldogs at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
On Saturday, West Point ended up a good deal behind Kosciusko and lost 50-32. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for West Point in their matchups with Kosciusko: they've now lost three in a row.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Aberdeen, who are still winless after their eighth game. They took a serious blow against West Lauderdale on Tuesday, falling 73-25. While losing is never fun, Aberdeen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 288th, while West Lauderdale is ranked 35th).
West Point's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Aberdeen, they bumped their record down to 0-8 with that defeat, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for West Point against Aberdeen in their previous meeting back in February as the squad secured a 100-47 win. Will West Point repeat their success, or does Aberdeen have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
