North Schuylkill has gone 8-2 against Pottsville recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Spartans will welcome the Crimson Tide at 4:30 p.m. North Schuylkill is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Last Thursday, North Schuylkill didn't have quite enough to beat Pine Grove and fell 4-3. The Spartans have struggled against the Cardinals recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Chase Slotcavage spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Hunter Rogers made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Landen Smith also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Pottsville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Blue Mountain. That's two games in a row now that the Crimson Tide have lost by just one run.

Dominic Rynard was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Rynard was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Rynard wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Luke Schane, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

North Schuylkill's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Pottsville, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Everything went North Schuylkill's way against Pottsville in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as North Schuylkill made off with a 14-6 win. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Crimson Tide have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
