The Rolling Meadows Mustangs will challenge the Grant Community Bulldogs at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Rolling Meadows is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.4 runs per game this season.
Rolling Meadows' pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They put the hurt on Hoffman Estates with a sharp 15-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Hawks: they've now won five in a row.
Luke Schneider made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over four innings pitched. Schneider was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Joe Brigham was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Quinn Hextall was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Rolling Meadows kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2025.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Grant Community's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They lost 15-5 to Mundelein.
Ramzi Abdelhak made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
Rolling Meadows' win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Grant Community, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Rolling Meadows has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Grant Community struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
