After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mission Oak, the Hanford Bullpups were happy to have found some success on Friday. They snuck past Lemoore with a 58-53 win. Given Hanford's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 439th, while Lemoore is ranked 887th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kenyah Stubbs continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 11 steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Hanford's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaaylah Capers, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.
The victory got Hanford back to even at 14-14. As for Lemoore, their defeat was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-19.
Hanford will take on Hoover at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Hanford focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday. Lemoore does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
