The Saugus Centurions will head out on the road to face off against the Paraclete Spirits at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Saugus is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
Saugus' pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over Quartz Hill. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Centurions.
The result came thanks to Chase Kline's shutout, as he gave up just six hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Joey Nuttall was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Saugus' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-2 (and 10-11 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Matt Long, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Paraclete was able to grind out a solid victory over Bishop Montgomery on Friday, taking the game 5-2.
Brody Eveland spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits.
At the plate, Paraclete let Julian Trejo and Joey Martinez run wild. Trejo went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base, while Martinez went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two runs gave Martinez a new career-high. Parker Medlin also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Paraclete's record now sits at 22-5. As for Saugus, they now have a winning record of 14-13.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Saugus has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Paraclete struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.7 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Saugus couldn't quite finish off Paraclete in their previous meeting back in February of 2025 and fell 2-0. Can the Centurions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
