The Ridgeview Wolf Pack suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They took a serious blow against Bakersfield Christian, falling 67-31. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Ridgeview in their matchups with Bakersfield Christian: they've now lost eight in a row.
Several Wolf Pack players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kenadi Walton, who scored six points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Aldan, who scored six points along with two steals.
Ridgeview struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Bakersfield Christian posted 13 assists.
Bakersfield Christian can attribute much of their success to Destiny Francies, who scored eight points along with 13 rebounds and five assists. Francies has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Ava King was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 13 rebounds.
Ridgeview has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for Bakersfield Christian, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-6.
Ridgeview's road trip will continue as they head out to face Independence at 6:30 p.m. on January 17th. Independence is on a three-game streak of home losses, Ridgeview a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Bakersfield Christian will take on Garces Memorial at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Garces Memorial comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 17 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
