The Dos Palos Broncos suffered their biggest loss since December 8, 2023 on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 58-17 loss at the hands of Coalinga. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Dos Palos in their matchups with Coalinga: they've now lost nine in a row.
Despite the defeat, Dos Palos saw an underclassman step up: Hannah Slimp scored ten points. That was a full 58.8% of Dos Palos' points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Addie Love was her usual excellent self, scoring 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals for Coalinga. Love has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lali Maciel, who scored eight points along with five steals and two blocks.
Dos Palos' loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Coalinga, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dos Palos will square off against Avenal at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Coalinga won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Farmersville at 5:30 p.m. on January 13th.
