The Brockway Rovers's four-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 53-28 margin over Curwensville. The win was just what Brockway needed coming off of a 60-30 loss in their prior match.
Brockway's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sophia Morrison, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Schmader, who scored 13 points along with eight steals and six rebounds.
Brockway's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-7. As for Curwensville, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Brockway will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Ridgway at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th. Ridgway presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Brockway in Pennsylvania (Ridgway is ranked 92nd, while Brockway is ranked 458th). As for Curwensville, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Moshannon Valley at 6:30 p.m. on January 12th.
