Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Crisp Academy). They were the clear victors by a 20-6 margin over the Fitzgerald Purple Hurricane on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wildcats considering their two-run performance the matchup before.
Laura Evans made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Evans was even better at the plate, firing off three home runs and six RBI while going 3-for-4. Those three home runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Crisp Academy got a massive performance out of Charli Fiveash, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Fiveash a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kylee Odom, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Crisp Academy lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
