Baseball Recap: Highland Wins Going Away Against Palmdale

Highland won the last time they faced Palmdale and things went their way on Friday too. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 9-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 11 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Highland let Hudson Harding and Colton Booterbaugh run wild. Harding went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Booterbaugh got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most runs Harding has posted since back in April. Cole Studt was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Highland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 12-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Highland is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-9-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Palmdale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-17.

Looking ahead, Highland will face off against Valencia at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Palmdale, they will take on Vasquez at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Falcons will need to watch out since the Mustangs have now posted at least ten runs in their last four contests.
