On Saturday, Derry was able to grind out a solid win over Brashear, taking the game 44-34.
Despite the loss, Brashear still got an impressive performance from Ra'Nyah Morris, who scored 16 points. Morris scored a full 47.1% of Brashear's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Ariana Sherrill was another key contributor, scoring 6 points.
The win got Derry back to even at 1-1. As for Brashear, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Derry will square off against Mt. Pleasant at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Brashear's road trip will continue as they head out to face Northgate at 6:00 p.m. on December 6th.
