Meanwhile, Austin came into Friday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They put the hurt on Switzerland County with a sharp 18-5 win on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won five matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Emma Ousley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (three). She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.
In other batting news, Julia Harris was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Addy Root, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
Austin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .683. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Paoli's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Austin, their record now sits at 5-11.
Paoli got the 'W' when the teams last played back in May of 2025 against Austin by a conclusive 14-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
