While it was all tied up 24-24 at halftime, the Shenandoah Valley Blue Devils were not quite Marian Catholic's equal in the second half on Monday. Shenandoah Valley fell 53-46 to Marian Catholic. While losing is never fun, Shenandoah Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 399th, while Marian Catholic is ranked 119th).
Marian Catholic's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carley Hasara, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hasara has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Fritz, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Shenandoah Valley dropped their record down to 7-6 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Marian Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 17-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shenandoah Valley will square off against Tri-Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Marian Catholic, they will head out on the road to take on Weatherly at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Weatherly has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 2.
