The Tacony Academy Charter Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their ninth straight loss. They fell 51-39 to Sayre. Tacony Academy Charter was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Sabres apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2019.
Brionn Veal-Coston continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Sayre, dropping a double-double on 32 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Veal-Coston has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Mischa Ferguson-Bell, who scored eight points along with seven assists and six steals.
Tacony Academy Charter's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Sayre, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-2.
Tacony Academy Charter will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the at 3:15 p.m. Prep Charter's defense has only allowed 29.4 points per game this season, so the Lions' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Sayre, they will head out on the road to challenge the at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
