While Makaree Chapman delivered a dominant performance on Thursday, a win just wasn't in the cards for Lexington. Nobody could stop Chapman as she struck out 12 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.

Looking ahead, Chapman and Lexington will venture away from home to square off against Mansfield Senior at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Sadly, Chapman's big day wasn't enough to stop the loss, which snapped the Minutemen's nine-game streak of wins on the road. With the streak broken, Chapman and the Minutemen surely have a bit of extra motivation heading into Friday's match.
