The Gilroy Mustangs are taking a road trip to square off against the Willow Glen Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Gilroy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Gilroy turned things around against Everett Alvarez on Monday. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 4-1.

The team relied heavily on Jayson Quezada, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Passama, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, while Willow Glen put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Christopher. The Rams didn't even let the Cougars on the board, marking the Rams' second-straight 11-0 shutout. Considering the Rams have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Christopher's batters probably weren't too happy with Kelan Cunningham, who pitched a no hitter and racked up seven Ks (he gave up zero walks).
On the hitting side, Jack Rudd was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times he's played. Tyler Veroneau was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Willow Glen kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.
Gilroy's record now sits at 8-5. As for Willow Glen, their record is now 11-2-1.
Friday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Gilroy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .455. However, it's not like Willow Glen struggles in that department as they've averaged .440. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
