Having just played yesterday, the Meyersdale Red Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Southern Fulton Indians at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Meyersdale is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
On Thursday, Meyersdale came up short against Rockwood and fell 53-45. Meyersdale has struggled against Rockwood recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Southern Fulton scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They really took it to Fannett Metal for the full four quarters, racking up a 59-29 victory on the road. With Southern Fulton ahead 41-14 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Southern Fulton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Claire Harvey out in front who scored 18 points along with six assists. Kamryn Pittman was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven steals.
Meyersdale has not been sharp recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Southern Fulton, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-5.
Meyersdale beat Southern Fulton 45-37 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Meyersdale since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
