Oak Park is 1-9 against Camarillo since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Oak Park Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Camarillo Scorpions at 3:30 p.m. Camarillo took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Oak Park, who comes in off a win.
Oak Park will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Monday, then bounced right back against Fillmore on Wednesday. Oak Park's pitchers stepped up to hand Fillmore a 14-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won four games by six runs or more so far this season.
Oak Park got a great performance from Mason Tannous as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Tannous also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Oak Park is 2-0-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 2-3 otherwise.

At the plate, Henry Rizzotti was a standout: he scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Oak Park always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .558. The last time their OBP was this high was since the start of last season.
Meanwhile, Camarillo fell victim to Royal and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Highlanders by a score of 2-0. The Scorpions' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Andrew Aragon was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.
Camarillo's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Oak Park, they moved to 4-3-1 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
Oak Park's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's matchup. Oak Park has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Camarillo, though, as they've been averaging only 0.6 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Oak Park continue to outrun the ball?
Oak Park might still be hurting after the 12-1 loss they got from Camarillo in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Oak Park avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
