The Monroe County Tigers lost against the Escambia County Blue Devils back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Monroe County fell to Escambia County 53-49. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Monroe County in their matchups with Escambia County: they've now lost six in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Escambia County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cleo Bolar jr., who scored 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Stephen Williams, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Monroe County now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Escambia County, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Monroe County will be playing at home against W.S. Neal at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Escambia County, they will head out on the road to face off against Flomaton at 9:00 p.m. on Friday.
