The Chandler Wolves will challenge the Gilbert Tigers at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Chandler was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Skyridge on Saturday. The Wolves blew past the Falcons 9-1.

Zayden Peltz tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
At the plate, Dylan Lopez was excellent, going 1-for-4 with four RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2025. Graham Snyder was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Gilbert, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They never let Dobson get on the board and left with a 14-0 win on Wednesday. While the Tigers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Thatcher Johnson looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Gilbert is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-5 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Gilbert let Tyler Silvestre and Cameron Foegal run wild. Silvestre went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Foegal went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That triple marked the first that Silvestre has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Wilfredo Aviles IV, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Gilbert always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Gilbert is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for Chandler, their win bumped their record up to 11-3.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Chandler hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .332. However, it's not like Gilbert struggles in that department as they've averaged .345. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Chandler got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 against Gilbert by a conclusive 12-1 score. Do the Wolves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
