The biggest upset of the week belonged to Cedar Mountain/Comfrey, who took down 193rd ranked New Ulm Cathedral, 47-42.
Adding to the longest winning streak in Southern Minnesota this week, St. Mary's beat Springfield 46-0. The win marks 10th in a row for the the Knights.
The Tigers' offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Carter Erickson threw for 262 and 2 touchdowns and Tyler Vogel had 99 yards receiving. On the ground Dylan Salonek chipped in 102 yards. Cooper Scheffler helped Springfield's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 70 yards.
Vogel was the best receiver in the league this week as Springfield beat Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton. Vogel tallied 2 receptions for 99 yards. Scheffler helped Springfield's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 70 yards.
Springfield's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Tigers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Erickson has thrown for 1,073 yards and 7 touchdowns this season, while Scheffler has 21 catches for 366 yards.
At the moment, the Cougars are in seventh, while St. Mary's is in first.
Cedar Mountain/Comfrey scaled the state rankings by moving to 218 from 271 this week, the biggest jump in the league. Keith Kawitter's team climbed the ranks as a result of topping the Greyhounds 47-42.
