Woodland Christian came tearing into Thursday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Highlands Scots with a sharp 14-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Ethan Howald and Jordan Villanuva made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Howald pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Villanuva pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Howald has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Howald scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Villanuva scored two runs and stole two bases.

In other pitching news, Owen Tessier looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
