Basketball Game Preview: Hershey Panthers vs. Red Cloud Warriors

The Hershey Panthers and the Red Cloud Warriors will face off at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, Hershey put up the most points they have all season on Monday. They strolled past Lexington with points to spare, taking the game 63-49.

Hershey relied on the efforts of Kamryn Butterfield, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds, and Demi DaMoude, who went 7-for-11 on her way to 18 points in addition to six assists and five boards. The game was Butterfield's fourth in a row with at least 20 points. Another player making a difference was Kenna Bringewatt, who posted 11 points.

Hershey smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. They are a perfect 4-0 when they hit their own glass that hard.

Meanwhile, Red Cloud put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 58-30 victory over Twin Loup. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 28 points or more this season.

Red Cloud's win came from a few key players that Hershey will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Aiva Rust, who had 21 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Red Cloud's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josie Faimon, who put up 17 points.

Hershey's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Red Cloud, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.

Hershey beat Red Cloud 63-52 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
