After both having extra time off, the Independence 76ers and the Cupertino Pioneers will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 5:30 p.m. on December 27th. Independence is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
Last Friday, Independence earned a 39-32 victory over Sequoia.
Independence relied on the efforts of Jodi Regondola, who scored 13 points, and Ashjeet Kaur, who scored 17 points.
Cupertino can finally bid farewell to their 23-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game last Saturday. They came out on top against Westmont by a score of 42-32. Cupertino's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Independence's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Cupertino, their victory ended a eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-7.
Independence didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Cupertino in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 28-24 win. Will Independence repeat their success, or does Cupertino have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
