Softball Recap: First Presbyterian Day's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

First Presbyterian Day strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They put the hurt on the Bethlehem Christian Academy Knights with a sharp 11-3 win. With that victory, the Vikings brought their scoring average up to 7 runs per game.

Gracyn Fuller made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single hit any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, one triple, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jessica Jones, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Claudia Green, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.

First Presbyterian Day always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bethlehem Christian Academy only posted an OBP of .350.

First Presbyterian Day's win bumped their record up to 4-0.

Coincidentally, First Presbyterian Day and Bethlehem Christian Academy will both be playing John Milledge Academy the next time they take the field. The Knights will head out to face the Trojans at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Vikings will play them later in the day, at 4:00 p.m.
