The Durham Trojans had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They claimed a resounding 70-39 win over Paradise at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Durham has posted against Paradise since December 3, 2019.
Durham was led to victory by Karla Rangel and Payton Santos. Rangel scored 17 points, while Santos scored 22 points. Santos hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucy Pezzetti, who scored eight points.
When it comes to explaining why Paradise lost, one person who can't be blamed is Nyah Baker. Despite the final result, she scored 27 points. That was a full 69.2% of Paradise's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jaylah Craft, who scored nine points.
Durham is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Paradise, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.
