Even though the Mira Loma Matadors have not done well against the Woodland Wolves recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Mira Loma strolled past Woodland with points to spare, taking the game 41-26. The win made it back-to-back wins for Mira Loma.
Despite the loss, Woodland still got an impressive performance from Joie Perez, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds. Perez hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Lucy Lopez, who scored six points.
The victory got Mira Loma back to even at 8-8. As for Woodland, they bumped their record down to 1-11 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Rio Linda the next time they take the court. Mira Loma will host Rio Linda at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Woodland will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
