The Portola Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Quincy Trojans at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Portola strolled past Burney with points to spare, taking the game 44-29. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Portola.
Meanwhile, Quincy stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 56-15 victory over Chester on the road. Winning may never get old, but Quincy sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Quincy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Shelby Nussle, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was McKynlee Gay, who scored ten points.
The victory got Portola back to even at 11-11. As for Quincy, they pushed their record up to 18-4 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Portola came up short against Quincy when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 52-47. Can Portola avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
